John Rogers is a Master wood turner, with over twenty years experience. He received special recognition for his achievements, both in woodturning and in sharing his love of the art through teaching others, when he was awarded the special Rotary ‘Pride of Workmanship’ Award in 2008.
John enjoys pushing the bounds of woodturning to create amazing and attractive functional and decorative pieces. Among his works of art are a trumpet, a full size replica BMX bicycle, and a complete tea set, all made completely of wood. |
John has given workshops at all levels up to and including advanced turning at the Bribie and District Woodcraft Association (next to the Art Centre) since 2005. He has also demonstrated at many Woodturning Clubs in South East Queensland among them, Queensland Woodturners Society, Cooroora Woodworkers Club, Caloundra Woodcrafters, Blackall Range Woodcrafters, Bundaberg Woodcrafters, Maryborough Woodcrafters. He has also judged competitions at several of these clubs.
