Mignon Parker studied at the National Art School in Sydney and worked for many years in advertising.She now resides in Sydney and is widely known for her close focus studies with botanical themes and figurative work.Parker works in all mediums and is a well known and respected teacher, conducting workshops at the Mitchel School of Arts at the Charles Sturt University, the McGregor Schools at the University of Southern Queensland, Grafton Art Fest and numerous other country and city locations. |
Mignon has held many successful solo exhibitions and participated in selective group shows. As a result, Mignons work is represented in Corporate and private collections both in Australia and overseas.

Mignon (www.mignonparker.com.au) will be holding two workshops during the festival. These are detailed below.
WORKSHOPS: IMPRESSIONS - Acrylic and Mixed Media
DESCRIPTION:
Each day in these mixed media and acrylic workshops will be spent exploring different and unique approaches of expressing the theme: Banksias to Beach. These include textures and techniques with distressed gold leaf, waxing and scraping, oil sticks, charcoal and dimensional compounds. The first two days are focused more on beginners, while the next four days are slanted towards intermediate and advanced artists. This division is a relaxed one – artists at all levels of experience will be stimulated and challenged by both courses.
Beginners: Acrylics, Gold Leaf and Waxing (Code MP1)
17 July - Banksias and distressed gold leaf
18 July - Impressionistic Seascape – scale-waxing and scraping
TIME AND PLACE: July 17 to July 18 (2 days), 8.30am to 4pm, Studio 2, Community Arts Centre.
WORKSHOP FEE: $140

WORKSHOP FEE: $280 plus $30 for optional Ferryman working session.
