
Barbara Duckworth has a Diploma of Art, Canada and studied Natural History Drawing at the British Museum of Natural History, London. She worked for the Australian Museum for 14 years. From 1988-1999 she worked at Macquarie University as a Biological Illustrator/Artist and taught Scientific Illustration courses in fundamental and advanced techniques. She has held two solo exhibitions, 2 x 2-person exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions,

Barbara teaches at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney; Eden Gardens, Sydney and Mitchell School of Creative Arts (Summer and Winter Schools), Bathurst; Toowomba Art School (Winter School); and the Royal Art Society of NSW.
She has had work exhibited in Botanica since 1999 with sell outs most years. Barbara is represented in the Shirley Sherwood Collection, London, and in private collections in USA, Canada, England and Japan.Her work is published in the key guide of Australian Reptiles and Amphibians and scientific texts and journals.

Barbara will be holding two workshops during the festival. These are detailed below.
DESCRIPTION OF WORKSHOPS:
Be inspired by the gorgeous colours of the botanical world around you! Everyone can draw and this workshop gives individual attention to participants regardless of whether you are just starting out or working at an advanced level.
Daily demonstrations are an integral part of the workshop and students can see how composition, line, tone and the effect of light defines form, shape, texture and colour of a plant.
