
Born in 1951 in Manildra NSW of Aboriginal Irish Swedish descent, Lyn has developed a unique individual style ranging from contemporary to abstract. Her fascination with the ocean inspires intricate underwater scenes, a theme for which she is renowned.
Lyn is one of Australia’s finest watercolour and pastel artists. She has been a tutor and professional artist for over thirty years and has conducted workshops and seminars both in Australia and overseas including the University of Southern Queensland, Charles Sturt University, Grafton Artsfest, Arts West Blackhall Flying Arts, Westmead Children’s Hospital, Meroo Art in Action - Kurrijong, Bribie Island Arts Festival, Nymboida Art Escape - Old Coaching Station, Art Society groups and schools.
Lyn undertakes some of the largest watercolours in Australia and overseas, with her unique style. Her use of vibrant colours and textures combine to bring harmony and balance to her work. Lyn’s work is held in private and corporate collections around the world and has been featured in national art magazines featuring watercolour and mixed media works.
In 2008 Lyn won 1st prize in the John Copes Watercolour Prize, largest watercolour prize in Australia and Blacktown City Indigenous Art Prize held in conjunction with the Bowral 8 District Art Society Inc. With her willingness to share her skills, Lyn has now branched into the corporate arena with her “Corporate Art Therapy” workshops. These are designed for corporate groups as relaxation therapy, held at various venues.
Lyn lives and works in Grafton northern New South Wales, and travels frequently to conduct workshops in regional areas around Australia.
